Julie Ernestine Schuman

Julie Ernestine Schuman, 87, of Sheboygan, went home peacefully to her Savior Jesus on Saturday, February 15, 2025.

Julie was born to George and Gertrude (Woeckner) Gehrke on December 5, 1937, in Neenah. She lived most of her life in Kohler and was a lifelong member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Kohler. She graduated from Kohler High School in 1956. 

On November 29,1958, she was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart, Glen Schuman at Bethany Lutheran Church in Kohler and was blessed with 3 fine sons: Mark, John, and Paul. 

Julie’s life centered on her home and church, At Bethany, she continued singing in the various choirs and playing guitar for Nursing Home Programs and children singing in church.

Julie will be remembered as a compassionate caregiver and for her love of her Lord Jesus and His House. She would agree with the Psalmist, “I was glad when they said to me, let us go to the House of the Lord.” Like her husband before her it was her joy to give away hundreds of crosses to anyone crossing her daily path. 

Julie is survived by her 2 loving sons, John (Miriam) Schuman and children Julia and Christian Schuman of Northbrook, IL and Paul Schuman of Glendale, WI; daughter-in-law, Amy Schuman; sister, Gretchen Hemenway; brother-in-law, Robert Parnitzke; as well as loving nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Glen; son, Mark Schuman; and sister, Karen Partnitski.

A funeral service will be held at Bethany Lutheran Church in Kohler on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at 11:30am. She will be laid to rest at Woodland Cemetery.

Relatives and friends may greet the family at church from 10:30am until the time of service.
