Jonathan Woodbury

Jonathan "Jon" Edward Woodbury, 42, of Adell, died Monday January 27, 2014. Jon was born on July 13, 1971 in Minneapolis, MN to Edward and Socorro (Melgares) Woodbury. He graduated from Roseville High School in 1989 and attended Concordia University. On April 5, 1997 he married Kristi Wilson at St. Paul Conservatory in St. Paul, MN. Jon was employed with Symmetry Financial Group as an Agency Leader. He was a member of Grace Bible Church, where he had served as a greeter. Jon enjoyed traveling, grilling, playing the online game Bejeweled, he loved birds of every kind and was a huge Minnesota Vikings fan. Jon was a songwriter, loved playing his guitar and enjoyed playing in his band Korah's Thirst. Jon loved spending time with his family and playing basketball with his sons. He had a passion for life and motivated and lifted others up. He had a beautiful and contagious smile that lit up the room. Jon will be remembered as always being positive, being fired up and for his love for his Lord. He is survived by his wife Kristi (Wilson) Woodbury; his daughter, Alyssa Woodbury of Menasha; his 2 sons; Gavin and Aidin Woodbury at home; his parents, Edward and Socorro (Melgares) Woodbury of Sioux Center, IA; his paternal grandma, Carol Woodbury of Maplewood, MN, his uncle, Salomon Melgares of Honduras;his mother-in-law, Donna Williams of Minneapolis, MN, his father-in-law Michael (Linda) Wilson of Las Cruces, NM; his sister and brother-in-law, Tracy (Kelly) Wicks of Faribault, MN. Jon is further survived by aunts, uncles, cousins and many dear friends. Jon was preceded in death by his paternal grandpa, Robert Woodbury and his maternal grandparents Salomon Melgares and Paula Ordonez. A memorial service to celebrate Jon's life will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg at 12:00 pm (noon) with Rev. Paul Thyren officiating. Relatives and friends may call upon the family on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at the funeral home from 10:00am until the time of service at noon. A memorial fund has been established in Jon's name.
