John W. Tarr, 68, of Plymouth, passed away on Tuesday evening, December 23, 2014, at his home. John was born on January 14, 1946, in Mt. Vernon, Ohio, son of Glenn and Madalyn (Reynolds) Tarr. He was a 1964 graduate of Camelback High School in Phoenix, AZ. John served in the US Army in Vietnam from 1965-1967. On February 20, 1971, he married Roberta Ann "Bobbie" Hemschemeyer in Phoenix. John was owner of Tarr's Trucking, delivering for Hartmann Sand & Gravel for 11 years until his retirement in 2008. John was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Sherman Center. He enjoyed golf, boating, and playing sheepshead and cribbage. John is survived by his wife of 43 years, Bobbie; his daughter, Carrie (Jake) Pasterski of Minneapolis, MN; his son, John Tarr of Plymouth; two grandsons, Max and Leo Pasterski; seven sister-in-laws, Linda Tarr of Mt. Vernon, OH, Nancy (Ray) Stone of Prescott, AZ, Pat Scholz of Sheboygan, Lynn (Jeff) Wickland of Menomonee Falls, Sandy (Ernie) Rathke of Belgium, Sue (Mike) Neu of Silver Creek, and Jo Hemschemeyer of Waukesha; three brothers-in-law, Richard (Esther) Hemschemeyer of Sheboygan, Rodney Scholz of Plymouth, and Jeff (Bonnie) Hemschemeyer of Silver Creek. John was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Ron Tarr, and his parents-in-law Bob and Grace Hemschemeyer. Funeral services to celebrate John's life will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, December 27, 2014, at St. John Lutheran Church in Sherman Center with Rev. Randal W. Schoemann officiating. Burial will take place at St. John Lutheran Cemetery in the Town of Sherman. Relatives and friends may call at the church from 11:00 am until the time of the service at 2:00 pm. A memorial fund has been established in John's name for the Wounded Warrior Project.
