John Stelle

John P. Van Stelle, 62, of 9510 Minderhaud Road, Oostburg died unexpectedly Thursday morning, March 8, 2007 at St. Nicholas Hospital. John was born on October 4, 1944 in Sheboygan, the son of the late James P. and Gertrude (Debbink) Van Stelle. He graduated from Oostburg High School in 1962. On March 27, 1965 he married the former Sandra Lensink in Oostburg. John was a dairy farmer in the Town of Wilson from 1968-1995 and worked at the American Club in Kohler from 1995 until his retirement in 2005. He was a member at First Reformed Church in Oostburg. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, going on leisurely bike rides, family vacations, and spending time with his daughters and granddaughters. He is survived by his wife, Sandy; three daughters, Connie (Tom) LeClair, Rachel (Kyle) Weavers, and Nikki (friend John Veldboom)Van Stelle, all of Oostburg; five granddaughters, Lindsay, Michaela and Lauren LeClair, Chloe Weavers, and Maddie Dekker; one sister, Linda (Gerard) Gilsdorf of Sheboygan Falls; two brothers, Robert (Eileen) Van Stelle and Donald (Shirley) Van Stelle, both of Gibbsville; three sisters-in-law, Ann (Jerry) Lammers, Mary (Keith) Ten Haken, and Laurel (John) Fischer, all of Oostburg; three brothers-in-law, Daniel (Lana) Lensink of Kohler, Paul (Sue) Lensink and Mark (Joanne) Lensink, both of Oostburg. John was preceded in death by his parents, an infant daughter, Stephanie Van Stelle; and a brother-in-law, Bill Lensink. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 12, 2007 at 10:30 am at the First Reformed Church in Oostburg with the Rev. Wayne DeVrou officiating. A family service will precede at 10:15 am in the fellowship hall. Burial will follow at Hartman Cemetery in the Town of Wilson. Friends may call at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg on Sunday, from 3-7 pm, and on Monday, at church, from 9 am until the time of service.
