John "Jack" A. Lucynski, 87, of Sheboygan Falls, passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2013, at Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center. Jack was born on August 28, 1925, in Sheboygan Falls, son of Joseph and Edelka (Dicke) Lucynski. He was a 1944 graduate of Sheboygan Falls High School. Jack served in the US Army during WWII from 1943-1946, in the European Theatre - Battle of the Bulge and the Pacific Theatre. On June 25, 1949, he married Joyce Hametner at St. Peter Claver Church in Sheboygan. Joyce passed away on May 28, 2004. Jack was employed at the Kohler Company for 43 years until his retirement in 1987. Jack was a member of Blessed Trinity Parish in Sheboygan Falls. He was a member of the Sheboygan Falls Auxiliary Police, Sheboygan Falls Civil Defense, and volunteered many years at St. Vincent de Paul. Jack loved spending time with family and friends at his cottage up-north and spending time with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed playing cards and working as an EMT with Sertich Ambulance Service. Jack is survived by his daughter, Cheryl (Mike) Tank of Sheboygan Falls; his son, Col. (US Army retired) John A. (Beate) Lucynski II of Sheboygan Falls; seven grandchildren, Travis (Vicki) Tank, Jocelyn (Josh) Sulsberger, Stacy (David) Grusznski, Dustin Scroggins, John A. Lucynski III, Christopher (Fiancee' Rachel Seachris) Lucynski, and Steven (Hillary Seward) Lucynski; six great-grandchildren; one son-in-law, Dennis Scroggins of Sheboygan Falls; two sisters-in-law, Lou Hametner of San Antonio, TX and Helen Hametner of Muskego; one brother-in-law, Larry (Donna) Hametner of Sheboygan Falls. Jack is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Jack was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 54 years, Joyce; one daughter, Nanette Scroggins; one brother, Robert Lucynski; and two brothers-in-law, Eugene and John Hametner. A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Jack's life will be held at 5:00 pm on Thursday, March 14, 2013, at Blessed Trinity Parish in Sheboygan Falls with Rev. Bob Lotz officiating. Interment will take place in Sheboygan Falls Cemetery on Friday with full military honors. Relatives and friends may call from 3:00 pm until the time of Mass Thursday at the church. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Jack's name for the American Cancer Society.
