John Gwinn

John D. Gwinn, 59, of Cedar Grove, passed away on Saturday, September 10, 2011 at his home. John was born on July 10, 1952 in Denver, CO, son of Melvin and Magdaline (Watson) Gwinn. He attended St. John Cathedral High School and Riverside High School in Milwaukee. John served in the US Army in Vietnam. On October 12, 2000 he married Holly B. Christianson in Waukegan, IL. Holly preceded him in death on February 10, 2011. John enjoyed bike and motorcycling riding, fishing and hunting. John is survived by two brothers, Randy (Victoria) Gwinn and Tom (Sue) Gwinn both of Milwaukee; one step-son, Alex Leyba of California; his parents-in-law; and sister-in-law, Lisa (John) Flannery of Waukesha. John was preceded in death by his wife, Holly, his parents, and two sisters, Linda Atkins and Brenda Penque. A memorial service to celebrate John's life will be held on Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at 10:00 am at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg. Burial will take place at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove. A memorial fund has been established in John's name.
