John Brownrigg

John P. Brownrigg, 85, of Kiel and formerly of Sheboygan Falls, passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2016, at his home. John was born on September 21, 1930, in Detroit, MI, son of Jake H. and Pauline (Schlossman) Brownrigg. He was a graduate of Culver Military Academy, in Culver, IN and Hanover College in Hanover, IN. On September 30, 1950, he married Nancy Hulett in Berwyn, IL. John was president and owner of Sheboygan Paint Company for 49 years, from 1952 to 2001. John was a member of Pine Hills Country Club, Sheboygan Community Theatre, and the Sheboygan YMCA. John enjoyed golf, travel, canoeing, outdoor activities, hiking, skiing, dogs, and watching war and western movies. John is survived by his wife of 65 years, Nancy; two daughters, Deborah (Tom) Heier of Kiel and Melinda (Charles) Malingowski of Sheboygan Falls; one son, Brock (Lynn) Brownrigg of Elkhart Lake; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and one sister-in-law, Ethel Bayard of California. John was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Louis Bayard. A visitation for relatives and friends to celebrate John's life will be held from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Wednesday, March 16, 2016,at the Wenig Funeral Home in Sheboygan Falls. A memorial fund has been established in John's name for the Ice Age Trail Alliance.
