Jodeen Marie Hinz, 16, of Adell, died on Tuesday morning, January 3, 2017 as a result of an automobile accident. Jodi was born on September 5, 2000 in Sheboygan, the daughter of Kelvin and Jacqueline (Davis) Hinz. Jodi was a sophomore at Plymouth High School. Jodi loved life to the fullest. Her smile was contagious and her spirit drew people to her. To know her was to love her. Jodi was a baptized and confirmed member at Zion United Methodist Church in Batavia. She was also a member of Plymouth High School FFA, Waldo Fireflies 4-H Club, Beaver Creek Bridle and Saddle Club, Jefferson Draft Horse Club, where she was chosen and honored as Horse Queen; and the Midwest Draft Horse Enthusiasts. Jodi was an accomplished equestrian showing and riding horses most of her life. She won many awards and competitions with her talents and abilities. Jodi showed horses with her family at many competitions, state and county fairs. She was often seen at draft horse shows either riding or driving on the wagon alongside her Dad. Jodi also enjoyed reading, traveling and family vacations. Jodi is survived by her parents, Kelvin and Jacqueline Hinz of Adell; two brothers, Cody (friend Sam) Nysse of Sheboygan Falls and Caleb (friend Taylor) Nysse of Adell; grandparents, Robert (friend Sandy) Davis of Mondovi, Marcia (friend Larry Kumrow) Sheets of Hingham, Oliver and Beverly Hinz of Adell; a great grandfather, Bernard (Lucille) Davis of Mondovi; an aunt, Kristina (Jorge) Tadeo of Port Washington; and an uncle, Robert (Elizabeth) Davis Jr. of Eau Claire. Jodi is also survived by a host of friends. Jodi was preceded in death by her grandparents, Marge Davis, Bob and Donna Drobac, and Edward Sheets. A funeral to celebrate Jodi's life will take place on Sunday, January 8, 2017 at 6 pm at the Zion United Methodist Church in Batavia with Rev. Hap Itson officiating. Burial will take place at the Zion Cemetery in the Town of Scott. Family and friends will gather at the church on Sunday from 1 pm until the time of the service at 6 pm.
