Joan Weeden

Joan M. Weeden, 89, of Kohler, died on Friday afternoon, June 8, 2012, at the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice. Joan was born on August 30, 1922, in Cleveland, the daughter of the late Joseph and Eleanor (Schnell) Hartmann. Joan graduated from Sheboygan Central High School in 1940.. On November 22, 1951, she married the late Clark Weeden in Sheboygan. Clark preceded her in death on October 24, 1983. Joan was a secretary for the Kohler Co. in the engine division for 14 years prior to her retirement in 1981. Joan was a member and dedicated volunteer of St. John Evangelist Catholic Parish in Kohler, and the St Ann Society. She also volunteered at Rocky Knoll Healthcare Center and the Kohler Public Schools. Joan enjoyed bowling, reading and doing crossword puzzles. Joan enjoyed living in Kohler and valued her many friendships there. She always appreciated the kindness of those friends and neighbors. She is survived by one daughter, Julie Weeden of Chaska, MN; four sons, Rick (friend Marilyn Lammers) Weeden of Sheboygan, Clark (JoAnn) Weeden of Plymouth, Dennis Weeden of Prentice, and Robert (Kim) Weeden of Sheboygan; six grandchildren, Tressa (friend Alex Davis) Weeden, Josh (friend Stephanie Preder) Weeden, Andrea Weeden, Sara (Nick) Sagal, Brian Weeden, and Jennifer (friend Marcus Fessler) Weeden; one great grandson, Sebastian; one sister, Rosaleen (Gary) Hart of Kohler; one brother, Fran Hartmann of Milwaukee; and one brother-in-law, Alan Weeden of West Bend. Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Clark; and an infant son, Joseph Weeden. A funeral to celebrate Joan's life will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, June 12, 2012, at St John Evangelist Catholic Parish in Kohler with the Rev. Bob Lotz officiating. Burial will follow at Woodland Cemetery in Kohler. Friends and family may gather at the Wenig Funeral Home in Sheboygan Falls (920-467-3431) on Monday from 4-7 pm, and at church, on Tuesday from 10 am until the time of the Mass at 11 am.
