Jimmie DePagter

Jimmie M. DePagter, 76, of Oostburg, died on Thursday afternoon, August 13, 2009 at Meadowview Manor Health Care Center. Jimmie was born on May 22, 1933 in Oostburg, the son of the late Edgar and Cora (DenBoer) DePagter. He graduated from Oostburg High School in 1951. Jimmie married the late Virginia VanStelle on October 2, 1953. She preceded him in death on December 16, 2005. Jimmie was a truck driver for Consolidated Freightways for over 35 years before his retirement in 1992. He was an avid baseball fan, enjoyed football, playing cribbage, collecting coins, and reading. He diligently followed the Milwaukee Brewers and the Green Bay Packers. He is survived by two sons, Kim (Denise) DePagter of Sheboygan, Robin (Chris) DePagter of Rochester, MN; six grandchildren, Benjamin, Nathan, Elizabeth DePagter, Michelle (Rob) Kilgore, Anna and Sam DePagter; three great grandchildren, Emma and Luke Kilgore, and Everett Hoard; one sister, Nancy (Bob) Born of Mt. Calvary; two brothers, Edward (Judy) DePagter and Rick (Melise) DePagter, both of Oostburg. Jimmie was preceded in death by his wife and parents. Memorial services will be held at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg on Monday, August 17, 2009 at 7 pm with the Rev. John Tinsley officiating. Burial of cremains will take place at Sunrise Memorial Gardens in the Town of Wilson. Friends may greet the family at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg on Monday from 5-7 pm.
