Jeverna Lammers

Jeverna M. Lammers, 91, of Sheboygan Falls and formerly of Hingham, passed away on Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at Pine Haven Residential Home. Jeverna was born on July 4, 1919 in Sheboygan Falls, the daughter of the late Anson and Dina (Buehler) Wingert. She was a 1937 graduate of Sheboygan Falls High School. On June 26, 1940 she married Alfred J. Lammers in Sheboygan Falls. Alfred preceded her in death on January 12, 2007. Jeverna farmed with her husband in the Town of Lima for 25 years. Jeverna was an active member of Hingham Reformed Church where she was a Sunday school teacher, active in RCW, and many other church activities. She was instrumental in starting Friendship Bible Coffees in the area. She and her husband ministered at Annville Institute in Kentucky. Jeverna enjoyed Bible study, cooking and baking. She also enjoyed spending winters in North Fort Myers, FL. Jeverna is survived by two daughters, Karen (Richard) Ten Haken of Hingham and Marilyn (Roger) Rauwerdink of Hingham; one son, Robert Lammers of Phoenix, AZ; one son-in-law, Stan (Ann) Buyze of Hingham; eleven grandchildren; three step-granddaughters; 17 great-grandchildren; nine step great grandchildren; two sisters, Ann (John) Ritchey of N. Fort Myers, FL and JoAnn Gall of Three Lakes; one brother, David (Eleanor) Wingert of Sheboygan Falls. Jeverna was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred, her daughter Judith Buyze and her sister Dorothy (Edward) VerVelde. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at 11:00 am at Hingham Reformed Church with the Rev. Steven Bakker officiating. A family service will take place at 10:45 am in the choir room. Burial will take place in Hingham Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg on Monday from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday at the church from 10:00 am until the time of the service at 11:00 am. A memorial fund has been established in Jeverna's name for Hingham Reformed Church and Pine Haven Christian Home.
