Jessie Hobe

Jessie A. Hobe, 87, of 6112 S 12th Street, Sheboygan, peacefully went home to her Lord on Sunday May 17, 2009. Jessie was born on January 3, 1922 in Tishomingo, OK, daughter of the late Ossie and Beulah Mae (Tallon) Neely. On April 7, 1945 she married Charles Hobe in Euclid, OH. He preceded her in death on February 19, 2003. Jessie was a longtime member of Euclid Lutheran Church and later attended the Sheboygan Evangelical Free Church. Jessie was a homemaker that enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, vegetable and flower gardening. She was known for a strong work ethic, generous, servant's heart and hospitable spirit to all. People were always amazed that after one meeting, Jessie would remember their names. Jessie had a strong faith in Jesus Christ, and her prayers shaped the lives of her family. She will be terribly missed here on earth, but her work here is done. She now enjoys the presence of her Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ. She is with her husband, Charles, her children, and other relatives who preceded her in death. Survivors include; one daughter, Pamela (Dr. Gary) Hylander of Sheboygan; three grandchildren, Kathryn, Joseph, and Benjamin Hylander; one sister, Joy (Kenneth) Elliot of Ardmore, Oklahoma; one brother-in-law, William (Marian) Hobe of Dewey AZ; and many nieces and nephews. Jessie was preceded in death by her husband Charles, an infant son, five brothers, Everett Neely, Dixie Neely, Leslie (Opal) Neely, Percy Neely, James P. (Elizabeth) Neely; three sisters, Edith (Joseph) Boaen, Lucille (William) Birdwell, Evelyn (Sherman) Thomas. Funeral services will be held at the Sheboygan Evangelical Free Church on Thursday, May 21, 2009 at 7:00 pm with Revs. Mark Steele and Jon MacDonald, officiating. Friends may call at the church from 5:30 pm until the time of service. Burial will take place at Woodland Cemetery in Kohler.
