Jerome Walter

Jerome S. Walter, 93, of Sheboygan Falls was born to eternal life on the first day of Spring, Friday night, March 20, 2015 while at his home with his family at his side. Jerome was born on April 17, 1921 in the Town of Lima, son of George and Anna (Prepster) Walter. He attended Ourtown School. On August 30, 1947 he married Gloria Holtzmann at St. George Catholic Church at Six Corners in the Town of Wilson. Gloria preceded him in death on November 15, 2008 following 61 years of marriage. Jerome was a dairy farmer in the Town of Lima until 1980 and was an inspector at Tecumseh Die Cast in Sheboygan Falls for 27 years before his retirement in 1986. Jerome was a member of Blessed Trinity Parish in Sheboygan Falls where he frequently attended daily Mass. He was a Holy Duster and helped on the cemetery maintenance crew. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing monopoly with his grandchildren, grilling outside for his family, and watching his grandsons play football and baseball. Jerome enjoyed attending the Farm Technology Days and going to car shows. He and his wife travelled the lower 48 states and enjoyed spending time with their children and gradchildren. Jerome is survived by two daughters, Sharon (David Otto) Barts of Sheboygan Falls, Debbie (Mike) Schmidt of Oak Creek; three sons, Kenneth (Alice) Walter of Sheboygan Falls, Dennis (Brenda) Walter of Owasso, Oklahoma, and Michael Walter of Sheboygan Falls; a daughter-in-law, Jean Walter of New Holstein; 13 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; six step great grandchildren; six step great great grandchildren; and one sister-in-law, Jan Walter of Sheboygan. Jerome was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria; one son, David Walter; a daughter-in-law, Cynthia Walter; one sister, Lucille (Leo) Feldkamp; and one brother, Cletus Walter. A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Jerome's life will take place at Blessed Trinity Parish in Sheboygan Falls on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at Noon with the Rev. Bob Lotz officiating. Burial will take place at St. Mary Cemetery in Sheboygan Falls. Family and friends will gather at Blessed Trinity Parish on Wednesday from 10 am until the time of Mass at Noon.
