Jerome Markowski

Jerome P Markowski, 80, of Cedar Grove passed away Friday, July 24, 2015 at the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice in Sheboygan Falls. Jerry was born in Milwaukee to John and Leona (Rusch) Markowski. He was a 1953 graduate of Don Bosco High School in Milwaukee. On November 30, 1957 he married Virginia Hopf. Jerry was a service installer for 45 years before his retirement in 1998. Jerome was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church in Sheboygan and formerly of Our Lady of Good Hope in Milwaukee where he was active as an usher and in scouting. Jerry enjoyed trips up north to the casino and playing cards, especially sheepshead and loved spending time with his family and attending all family activities. He will be remembered as being a loving and devoted family man. Jerome is survived by his wife of 57 years, Virginia; one daughter, Cheryl (Matt) Brown; one son, Kevin (Nancy) Markowski; four grandchildren, Amanda (Gary) Te Beest, Brittany Brown, Jennifer Markowski and David Markowski; one sister, Anita (Bill) Kulick; two sisters-in-law, Bernita Markowski and Lois Caflisch; best friends, Jill Stumpf, Scott and Marianne Trott. Jerry is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, John Jr. Markowski, brothers and sisters-in-law, Larry Caflisch, Richard and Donna Hopf and Vera and Don Glisch, and his best friend, Merlyn Stumpf. Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Sheboygan from 11 am until the time of Mass of Christian Burial at 12:30 pm with Rev. Phil Reifenberg officiating. A memorial fund is being established to Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice in Jerry's name.
