Jeannette Heinen

Jeannette E. Heinen, 94, of Oostburg, passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2015, at St. Nicholas Hospital in Sheboygan. Jeannette was born on December 18, 1920, in Oostburg, daughter of Cornelius and Hattie (Brusse) Hendrikse. She was a 1939 graduate of Oostburg High School. On April 4, 1945, she married Wesley Heinen in the Town of Wilson. Wesley passed away on May 3, 2013. Jeannette was a lifelong member of First Reformed Church in Oostburg, where she was active in the Ladies Circle, the choir, Young at Heart, and as a Sunday school teacher. She enjoyed sewing, flowers, gardening, cooking, baking, and children. Jeannette is survived by her daughter, Faye Erdmann of Colorado; her two sons, David (Cassandra) Heinen of Oostburg and Don (Connie) Heinen of Edgerton; four grandchildren, Jennifer (Bill) Bohlen, Matthew Erdmann, Michael Heinen, and Joel (Stephanie) Heinen; two great-grandchildren, Logan Erdmann and Graycee Bohlen; one brother, Harold (Audrey) Hendrikse of Oostburg; two sisters-in-law, Phyllis Ledeboer of Oostburg and Joan Heinen of Cedar Grove; and two brothers-in-law, John VanWyk of Gibbsville and Ralph Heinen of Cedar Grove. Jeannette was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Wesley, two sisters, Marian (Melvin) TenHaken and Beatrice (Clifford) Dulmes, one brother, Norman Hendrikse. Funeral services to celebrate Jeannette's life will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at First Reformed Church in Oostburg with Rev. Brian Taylor officiating. Burial will take place at Union Cemetery in the Town of Holland. Relatives and friends may call at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg on Friday from 4-7 pm, and on Saturday, at church from 9:30 am until the time of the service e at 10:30 am. A memorial fund has been established in Jeannette's name for the Oostburg Ambulance and Pine Haven Christian Communities.
