Jeanne M. Sicotte, 89, a longtime resident of Kohler, passed away on Monday morning, August 9, 2010 at SouthPointe Healthcare Center in Greenfield. Jeanne was born on August 28, 1920 in Houghton, MI, the daughter of the late Michael and Margaret (Burk) LaBisoniere. On September 8, 1941 she married James J. Sicotte in Houghton, MI. James preceded her in death on February 17, 2005. Jeanne was a member of St. John Evangelist Catholic Church in Kohler. She enjoyed playing bridge, cooking, baking, sewing and traveling. Jeanne is survived by one daughter, Susan (David) Wensink of Franklin; one son, Gerald Sicotte of Greenfield; four grandchildren, Kurt Sicotte, Denise (Jay) Veremy, John (Laura) Wensink and David (Jody) Wensink; ten great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Connie Sicotte of Florida and her favorite nephew, Dan Turvey of Marquette, MI. Jeanne was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years James, two sons, Sid Sicotte and Jim Sicotte, grandson Dan Wensink, three sisters and four brothers. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, August 14, 2010 at 11:00 am at St. John Evangelist Catholic Church in Kohler with the Rev. Bob Lotz officiating. Burial will take place in Woodland Cemetery in Kohler. Relatives and friends may call at the church from 9:00 am until the time of Mass at 11:00 am. A memorial fund has been established in Jeanne's name.
