Jeanette B. Weisse, 92, of Sheboygan Falls, died peacefully on Wednesday morning, March 8, 2017 at Pine Haven Christian Home where she had been a resident for the past year. Jeanette was born on September 30, 1924 in Grover Township, Wisconsin, the daughter of the late Hugo and Helen (Feifarek) Bauman. She graduated from Marinette High School in 1942 and then received her bachelor degree from the University of Wisconsin - Madison. She married Louis E. Weisse on June 8, 1946 in Marinette. Lou preceded her in death on January 8, 1999 following 52 years of marriage. Jeanette was a longtime member of St. Peter Episcopal Church in Sheboygan Falls. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society, Friends of the Sheboygan Falls Library, Sheboygan Falls Women's Club, and various bridge clubs. Jeanette was a poll worker for many years, volunteered at the Sheboygan Falls Food Pantry, and knitted many infant hats for the Sheboygan Memorial Hospital. Jeanette enjoyed reading, playing bridge and other card games, board games, sewing and doing word puzzles. Jeanette is survived by four daughters, Constance (Steven) Ilmer of Farmington Hills, MI, Rachel (Dale) Schultz of Richland Center, Leah Weisse of Acton, MA, Karen (Timothy) Wodach of Sheboygan Falls; two sons, Mark (Patricia) Weisse of Jacksonport and Anthony (Theresa) Weisse of West Bend; eleven grandchildren, Sarah (Frederick) Rockwood, Benjamin Ilmer, Ruth Ilmer, Katharine (Jesse Zarley) Schultz, Amanda (friend Will) Schultz, Emily Wodach, Mitchell Wodach, Adam (Kelly) Weisse, Elizabeth (Nicholas) Hansen, Laurinda Weisse and Gretchen Weisse; three great grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law, Martha Moody of Arlington, TX and Joyce Bauman of Marinette; nieces and nephews. Jeanette was preceded in death by her husband, Louis; and two brothers, John (Bernice) and Merritt Bauman. A memorial service to celebrate Jeanette's life will take place at the Wenig Funeral Home in Sheboygan Falls on Thursday, June 29, 2017 at 11 am with the Rev John Throop officiating. Inurnment will take place at Sheboygan Falls Cemetery. Family and friends will gather at the Wenig Funeral Home in Sheboygan Falls on Thursday, June 29, 2017 from 9 am until the time of the service at 11 am. A memorial fund is being established in her memory for the Sheboygan Falls Memorial Library and St. Peter Episcopal Church. The Weisse family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff at Pine Haven Christian Cornerstone Home for the dedicated and loving care given to Jeanette and their family.
