Jeanette Akright

Jeanette Mae Akright, 96, passed away Tuesday morning, November 8, 2022, at Harrison Home in Cedarburg.

Jeanette was born January 23, 1926, in Sheboygan Falls, the daughter of Claude and Rena (nee Dupree) Akright. She grew up in Sheboygan Falls.

For many years Jeanette worked for Jung Shoe Factory in Sheboygan, retiring in 1988. Most of her life she attended Fountain Park United Methodist Church in Sheboygan and in later years attended United Methodist Church in Sheboygan Falls.  Jeanette was a member of Rose-Harms Unit 355 American Legion Auxiliary.

Jeanette always stayed busy and enjoyed gardening and outdoor work.  Her biggest joy was her love of animals and the companionship of her dogs.  She will be remembered for her spunky personality.

Jeanette is survived by many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Paul (Adeline)(Roma), Edwin (Johanna), George, Robert (Shirley) and Henry (Helen).

A private memorial service celebrating Jeanette’s life will be held at Wenig Funeral Home in Sheboygan Falls.  In memory of Jeanette, donations to the Sheboygan County Humane Society are appreciated.
