Jean Elizabeth Vander Jagt, 97, of Cedar Grove, passed away on Monday, August 7, 2017, at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice.  Jean was born on May 1, 1920, in Cedar Grove, WI to Robert and Mable (Renskers) Baden. She was a proud member of the first graduating class of Cedar Grove High School. On October 12, 1939 she married Eugene Eernisse, he preceded her in death on November 14, 1974. On May 23, 1975, Jean married Marvin in Cedar Grove, he preceded her in death on July 16, 1987. Jean was employed at Musebeck Shoe Co. for 21 years as a clerical worker until her retirement in 1975. She was a member of First Reformed Church in Cedar Grove. She was a member of the Ladies Aid Guild, church choir, an active Sunday School teacher, and long time Brownie leader. She enjoyed golfing, sewing, cards, traveling and spending time with her family and friends.  Jean is survived by her daughter, Virginia (John) Jossi of Midland, MI; one daughter-in-law, Karen Eernisse-Otte of Cedar Grove; one step daughter, Jean (Donald) Schreurs of Cedar Grove; one stepson, Mark (Karen) Vander Jagt of Tuscon, AZ; one step daughter-in-law, Linda Vander Jagt of Hartford, WI; one step son-in-law, Rodney Teunissen of Cedar Grove; four grandchilden, Steven Jossi, David (Shari) Jossi, Eric (Sally) Eernisse and Scott (Janel) Eernisse; nine step- grandchildren, Mike, Laurie, Sue, Jill, Paul, Lori, Kristi, Jody and Dan; numerous great grandchildren and step great grandchildren; and one sister, Marilyn Westerbeke of Cedar Grove. She is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Jean was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Eugene Eernisse and Marvin Vander Jagt; one son, Gary Eernisse; one son-in-law, Jim Otte; one step-daughter, Jane Teunissen; one step son, Lee Vander Jagt; one brother, Lloyd  Baden; two sisters, Dorothy Baden, Lois (Gordon) Bloemers; two sisters-in-law, Irene Moore and Evelyn Vancouteran.  A funeral service to celebrate Jean's life will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2017, at 12pm at the First Reformed Church in Cedar Grove with Rev. Al Schut officiating. A burial will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at the church from 10am until the time of service at 12pm. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established in her name to Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff and volunteers of Sharon S.
