Jean Wilma Harmelink, 97, of Cedar Grove, died on Tuesday morning, November 5, 2013, at Pine Haven Christian Residential Home where she had resided for the past three years. Jean was born on December 7, 1915 in the Town of Holland, the daughter of Edgar and Gertrude (Zeeveld) Lensink. She attended Beaver Creek School in the Town of Holland. On December 5, 1934, she married Donald Harmelink in the Town of Holland. Donald preceded her in death on August 3, 1990. Jean was a cook for the Cedar Gove School district for over 20 years. Previously she worked at Musebeck Shoe Co. Jean was a longtime member of the First Reformed Church in Cedar Grove where she was active in the Ladies Aid. She was also a dedicated St. Nicholas Hospital volunteer. Jean enjoyed cooking, bowling, playing cards, and spending time with her family. She enjoyed collecting bells and cardinals. Jean is survived by her two daughters, Doris (Roger) TeKulve of Luxemburg and Carol (David) Wieberdink of Cedar Grove; her two sons, Richard (Grace) Harmelink of Laguna Niguel, CA and David (Patricia) Harmelink of Sheboygan; nine grandchildren, Jodi (Gene) Seidl, Cory (Janelle) TeKulve, LeeAnn (Richard) Salentine, Kerry (David) Ashe, Daniel (Tara) Wilterdink, Richard Harmelink Jr., Kaye (Jim) Stromquist, Kelly (John) Mannon, and Derek (Victoria) Harmelink; 24 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; two step- grandchildren, Andrew (Beth) and Benjamin (Natalie) Wieberdink; six step-great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Rosalie Lensink of Sheboygan and Bernice Harmelink of Oostburg. Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; two sisters, Harriet (Robert) Flipse and Mildred (Willis) Veldboom; two brothers, Gerald (Jean) Lensink and Earl Lensink; and a step great grandson, Jarred Wieberdink. Funeral services to celebrate Jean's life will take place at noon on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at the First Reformed Church in Cedar Grove with Rev. Kent Vant Hul officiating. Burial will take place at the Cedar Grove Cemetery. Family and friends will gather at the church from 9:00 am until the time of the service at noon. A memorial fund is being established in her memory for Pine Haven Christian Communities and First Reformed Church in Cedar Grove.
