Janet Lee TeBeest, 79, of Oostburg, died peacefully on Wednesday, January 20, 2016, at the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice, following a month long illness. Janet was born in Oostburg, on December 30, 1936, the daughter of late Edward and Nellie (Brill) Kappers. She graduated from Oostburg High School in 1954. On May 10, 1958, she married her high school sweetheart Howard TeBeest in Oostburg. Howard preceded her in death on August 21, 2007. Janet was a loving and dedicated mother and homemaker. Janet was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Oostburg where she served as a Sunday school and Bible school teacher, and was active in women's ministries. Janet was devoted to her church family and to her faith in Jesus. She sent numerous cards to all her relatives, friends, and fellow church members. She loved her family dearly; always trying to attend as many of their sporting, church, and school events as possible. Janet enjoyed traveling, boating, snowmobiling with the "The Gang", and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was an avid reader and enjoyed going to the library, as well as going out to breakfast and watching movies with her sisters and friends. One of Janet's accomplishments that her children are proud of was that she learned how to fly their airplane and took a solo flight. Janet is survived by her three daughters, Becky (Patrick) Connor of Bloomington, IN, Sally (Jeff) Prinsen of Oostburg, Amy (Andy) Nelson of Eau Claire; her two sons, Jim (Nancy) TeBeest of Oostburg and Tom (Angi) TeBeest of Oregon, WI; 15 grandchildren, Joshua (Ashley), Kelsey, and Matthew TeBeest, Megan, Mollie, and Erin Connor, Nathan and Ryan Prinsen, Jordyn, Kendra, Caleb, and Karissa TeBeest, and Trinity, David, and Ethan Nelson; two great-grandchildren, Hayden and Shane TeBeest; three sisters, Phyllis (the late Carl) Huibregtse, Minnie (the late Willard) Dykstra, and Marge (Bud) Obbink; and one brother, John (Charlotte) Kappers. She is also survived by brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at the First Presbyterian Church in Oostburg at 1:00 pm, on Saturday, January 23, 2016 with Rev. Brian Jacobson officiating. A family service will precede in the fellowship hall at 12:50 pm. Burial will follow at Oostburg Cemetery. Friends may call at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg on Friday, January 22, 2016, from 3-7 pm; and on Saturday, at church, from noon until the time of the service at 1:00 pm.
