Janet L. Mauer 72, of 859 Broadway, Sheboygan Falls, passed away early Tuesday morning, March 7, 2006 at St. Nicholas Hospital after a lengthy illness. She was born April 4, 1933 in Sheboygan, the daughter of the late Edward and Mary (Huyck) Onnink. She attended school in Sheboygan Falls graduating from Sheboygan Falls High School, Class of 1951. On October 11, 1952 she married Donald E. Donath in Sheboygan Falls. He preceded her in death on January 10, 1953. On July 2, 1955, Janet married Joseph Mauer at St. Mary Catholic Church in Sheboygan Falls. Janet was employed at Citizens Bank as a teller and Evans as a clerk for many years. She was a member of Blessed Trinity Parish in Sheboygan Falls. Janet is survived by her husband of 50 years and her loving and devoted caregiver, Joe; her children, Sarah (Robert) Lange of Athens, WI, John Mauer, Robert (Kelly) Mauer, Sue (Warren) Stokdyk, Jeffrey (Griselda) Mauer, Pork (Brenda) Mauer and Mary Jo (Mike) Wallner, and Julie Mauer all of Sheboygan Falls; 15 grandchildren, Ashley, Kyle and Brittany Lange, Ryan (Becca), Billy and Beth Mauer, Seth, Chelsey and Tess Mauer, Matthew and Janna Stokdyk, Brady and McKenna Mauer and Paige and Caden Wallner; one sister, Rogene (Donald) Retzlaff of Sheboygan Falls; and one brother, Le Roy (Carol) Onnink of Sheboygan. She is also survived by many other sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. She was preceded in death by sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, March 9, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. at Blessed Trinity Parish with the Rev. Eugene Neuman, officiating. Burial will take place at St. Mary Cemetery. Friends may call at the CHURCH from 4:00 p.m. until the time of services at 7:00 p.m. Janet loved her family very much and looked forward to visits with her children and grandchildren. She will always be remembered for her beautiful flower gardens she grew over the years. The family would like to thank Diane Oppeneer, Dr. DeTrana and his staff and the fifth floor nursing staff at St. Nicholas Hospital for their care and compassion.
