Janet Marek

Janet F. Marek, 92, of Sheboygan Falls and formerly of Mount Prospect, IL, died Friday, January 6, 2017 at Pine Haven Christian Homes in Sheboygan Falls. Janet was born on December 7, 1924 in Chicago, IL to Elwood and Elizabeth (Mahoney) Varebrook. She is a graduate of Providence High School. On April 23, 1955, Janet married Frank Marek. Frank preceded her in death on October 31, 2010. Janet taught elementary school for several years in Chicago. She was a faithful mother and homemaker while raising her four children. Janet was a dedicated member of the Blessed Trinity Parish and formerly an active member of the Saint Raymond's prayer group. She enjoyed volunteering her time at Lutheran General Hospital and at her church. Janet is survived by one daughter, Patricia (Alan) Hendrickson of Sheboygan Falls; three sons, Lee (Marge) Marek of Naperville, IL, Kevin (Karen) Marek of Waldorf, MD, and Jerry Marek of Winfield, IL; four grandchildren, Janet Hendrickson, Carol (Mike) Spain, Kerry (Katherine), and Kirk (Brian Blank) Marek; three great-grandchildren, Kenneth and Katie Marek, and Madeleine Spain. Janet is further survived by nieces, nephews, and other relatives. A Christian Memorial Mass will take place at St. Raymond de Penafort in Mt. Prospect, IL on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at 10 am. Relatives and friends may greet the family at the church on Saturday, January 21, 2017 from 9:30 am until the time of mass at 10 am.
