Jane Teunissen

July 16, 1947 — June 11, 2013

Jane M. Teunissen, 65, of Cedar Grove went home to her Lord on Tuesday night, June 11, 2013 with her family at her side at the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice following a lengthy illness. Jane was born on July 16, 1947 in Sheboygan, the daughter of the late Marvin and Harriet (Soerens) VanderJagt. She graduated from Cedar Grove High School in 1965. On July 10, 1971, Jane married Rodney A. Teunissen in Cedar Grove. Jane farmed with her husband in the Town of Holland, and also worked at the 1st National Bank at Bayshore, Random Lake Sate Bank, and the Cedar Grove-Belgium school lunch program. Jane was a lifelong member of the First Reformed Church in Cedar Grove. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and family, gardening, bird watching, vacations and casino trips with her husband, animals, the outdoors, and her cat, Misty. She is survived by her husband, Rodney of Cedar Grove; one daughter, Lori (John-Peter T.) Norum of Cedar Grove; one son, Paul (Lisa) Teunissen of Cedar Grove; two grandchildren, Noah and Isaiah Teunissen; a twin sister, Jean (Donald) Schreurs of Cedar Grove; one brother, Mark (Karen) VanderJagt of Tucson, AZ; a sister-in-law, Linda VanderJagt of Hartford; her step-mother, Jean VanderJagt of Sheboygan Falls; a step sister, Karen Otte of Cedar Grove; and three brothers-in-law, Dale H. (Betty) of Cedar Grove, Glenn of Crivitz, and Steven J. (Linda) Teunissen of Mesa, AZ. Jane is also survived by nieces, nephew other relatives and friends. Jane was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, Lee VanderJagt. A funeral to celebrate Jane's life will take place at the First Reformed Church in Cedar Grove at 1:30 pm on Tuesday, June 18, 2013 with the Rev. Kent Vant Hul officiating. Burial will follow at the Cedar Grove Cemetery. Family and friends will gather at the church on Monday from 4-8:30 pm, and on Tuesday from 12:30 until the time of the service.
