James Vernon Wickert, 66, of Sheboygan passed away on Monday, May 11, 2015 at his home following a short illness with liver cancer. Jim was born on July 16, 1948 in West Bend to James A. and Janis (Schwichtenberg ) Wickert. Jim was a 1966 graduate from Cedar Grove High School and furthered his education at UWM and MSOE in Milwaukee. On September 11, 1971, James married Kitty Ann Doyle at Blessed Trinity Parish in Sheboygan Falls. Jim worked as a sales manager for Scan-Tech Americas. Jim was a member of St. Dominic Parish. He was a member of the Sheboygan Elks, SCCA and the EAA. Jim enjoyed leading edge technology, rock n' roll music, airplanes, car racing, golf, traveling, cooking and especially spending time with his grandchildren. Jim is survived by his wife of 43 years, Kitty; two daughters, Rebecah Leah (David) Wickert-Carini of Sheboygan and Erin Leah (Daniel) Moericke of Sheboygan; two sons, Jordan James Wickert of Sheboygan and Jonathan Edward Wickert of Milton; three grandchildren, Jakob Mitchell Cain Wickert, Ciara Grace Moericke and Olivia Danielle Moericke; seven step-grandchildren, Kyle David Carini, Sarah Giovanna Carini, Lacey Christina (Jeremy Cobb) Moericke, Morgan Elizabeth Moericke, Hunter Quinn Moericke, Fernando Zamora, and Lindsey Michelle Zamora; one step-great grandson, Charles Daniel Cobb; his parents, James and Janis Wickert of Lake Havasu, AZ; two sisters, Jill Wickert of Manhattan Beach, CA and Jacqueline (Russ Wilson) Wickert of North Hollywood, CA; one brother, Jere (Maureen) Wickert of Chicago, IL; two sisters-in-law, Danie Ann (Kent) Wilson of Sheboygan and Sheila Ann (David) Hegge of Dakota, MN; four brothers-in-law, Dennis O'Shea (Kathy) Doyle of Sheboygan, Kerry O'Neil (Marcia) Doyle of Sheboygan, Shon O'Hara Doyle of Pawanee, IL and Terrence O'Kelly Doyle of Sheboygan Falls. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and one brother-in-law, James Paratore. A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Jim's life will be on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at 11 am at Blessed Trinity Parish in Sheboygan Falls with Rev. Bob Lotz officiating. Inurnment will take place at St. Mary Cemetery in Sheboygan Falls. Relatives and friends can greet the family on Friday, May 15, 2015 from 4-8pm at the Wenig Funeral Home in Sheboygan Falls and again on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at church from 10am until the time of service at 11am. A memorial fund in his Jim's name is being established.
