James Waech

January 21, 1944 — January 3, 2012

James "Jim" E. Waech, 67, of Cedar Grove, passed away on Tuesday morning, January 3, 2012, at his home, after a courageous battle with cancer. Jim was born January 21, 1944 in Milwaukee, WI to Edward James and Florence (Theis) Waech. He graduated from Random Lake High School in 1962. On, October 12, 1963, Jim married Dolores Schneider at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in the Town of Scott. Jim owned and operated Cedar Grove Trenching and hauled propane for many years. He then worked as groundskeeper for Aldrich Chemical until his retirement in 2008. Jim was a member of Faith Reformed Church in Cedar Grove where he served as Elder and Deacon. He served on the Pine Haven Christian Home Board of Directors. Jim loved spending time with his family. He had a great sense of humor and loved people, never passing judgment. Jim just loved life, leaving an impression with those he met. Jim enjoyed fishing, playing cards, golfing with friends, motorcycling, and gardening. He also enjoyed coaching Cedar Grove High School Trap. He was active in trap, skeet, and sporting clays, and was able to place at the Badger State Games. Jim is survived by his: wife Dolores; three sons, Ed (Kathy) Waech of Oostburg, Todd Waech of Brillion, Doug (Lanelle) Waech of Larsen; six grandchildren, Jordan (fiancée Erika Karpen) Waech and Courtney Waech, Jesse and Nina Waech, Samuel and Sydney Waech; other relatives and many friends. Jim was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services to celebrate Jim's life will be at 11:00 am on Friday, January 6, 2012 at Faith Reformed Church with Rev. Earl Slotman officiating. Private inurnment will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call from 4-8 pm on Thursday, January 5, 2012, at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg and one hour prior to the service Friday at the church. A memorial fund has been established in Jim's name for the Faith Reformed Church Building Fund and Pine Haven Christian Home.
