James See

January 7, 1925 — November 6, 2016

James Joseph See, 91, of Sheboygan passed away on Sunday, November 6, 2016. Born in Auburndale, Wisconsin on January 7, 1925, Jim was the second son of Peter Joseph and Othilia ‘Tillie' (Schulhauser) See. Jim grew up on a farm in the Town of Carson, near Junction City, Wisconsin. He attended schools there and graduated from Rudolph High School in 1943. He served in the U.S. Navy from October 1943 to November 1947. He was a proud WWII veteran who thoroughly enjoyed the Honor Flight to Washington, D.C. in 2015. Jenny McCallister accompanied her dad on this flight. Once in Washington DC, Jim received a surprise visit from his grandson, Sgt. Scott McCallister, U.S.M.C. Jim met the love of his life, Clarabell Kempen, at a free movie in Rudolph, Wisconsin. Later at a church picnic, Clarabell was selling steel rings for a ring toss game. Jim kept the last ring and treasured it the rest of his life. On November 22, 1947 James Joseph See married Clarabell Corine Kempen at St. Philomena Catholic Church in Rudolph. They were blessed with nine children. The treasured ring from the ring-toss will be entombed with Jim beside Clarabell. Clarabell preceded Jim by going to heaven on December 18, 2015 following 68 years of marriage. Jim drove semi-trucks for most of his working life, transferring his terminal from Wisconsin Rapids to Sheboygan in 1965. After retirement, he lived in Sheboygan and Davenport, Florida. He enjoyed calling bingo, playing cards, fishing, woodworking, watching NASCAR, reading western books, making things out of golf balls, and camping. The family traveled throughout the U.S. and he made fifty-two fishing/sightseeing trips to Canada. There wasn't a thing Jim couldn't fix. Many family and friends were recipients of his talents. Jim and Clarabell spent the past 36 winters enjoying their Florida home and friends. Jim is survived by nine children, James A.
