James Ruh

James Ruh, 86, of Sheboygan Falls, passed away on Monday, November 14, 2016 at St. Nicholas Hospital in Sheboygan. Jim was born on April 24, 1930 in Schleswig, WI to Arthur and Irene (Retlich) Ruh. He attended New Holstein High School. Jim served his country in the United States Air Force, active duty from 1948-1968, serving in Bermuda, Germany, the USA and Japan. On July 12, 1952 he married Dolores Eble in Long island, NY. They had four children together. She preceded him in death on April 24, 1992. He married Betty Lapcinski on May 13, 1993; she preceded him in death on January 30, 1999. On February 25, 2000 he married Dorothy Fleming in Sheboygan Falls. Jim was the 2nd shift supervisor at Die Cast from 1973 until his retirement in 1992. Jim was a member of Blessed Trinity Parish and the VFW post 9156 in Sheboygan. Jim enjoyed Intarsia woodworking and hunting. He loved spending time with his family, all family activities and telling stories about his younger years and his time in the military. Jim is survived by his wife, Dorothy Ruh; three daughters, Theresa (Martin) Evanson, Patricia (Robert) Miller, and Doreen Luecke; one son, Scott (Cathi) Ruh; eight grandchildren, Cara Evanson, Heather (Kevin) Murray, Holly (Tim) Gambsky, Brett (Sarah) Miller, Crystal Luecke, Eric (Jessica) Luecke and Nick (Elaine) Ruh; 14 great grandchildren; three sisters, Audrey O' Donnell, LoAnn Ruh, and Ione Gregorie; three brothers, Eugene Ruh, Kenneth (Charlotte) Ruh and Lloyd Ruh. He is further survived by his step children, Theresa, Daniel, Mark, Tom, Bill, Steven, Bob, John, Joann, Susan, Sandy, Kathy, Pat, Chris, Connie, Denise, Carol and Maggie. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, his first two wives, Dolores Ruh and Betty Ruh, his brothers, Elwood, Victor, Arthur, and Robert Ruh; his sisters, Elda and Fayth; and his granddaughter, Sgt. Heidi Ruh, US Army. A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Jim's life will be held on Friday, November 18. 2016 at 11 am at Blessed Trinity Parish in Sheboygan Falls with Rev. Bob Lotz officiating. Military honors will immediately follow the service. Inurnment will be held at a later date at Gardens of Peace Mausoleum. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Friday, November 18, 2016 at the church from 9 am until the time of mass at 11 am. A memorial fund is being established in Jim's name.
