James Rach

August 8, 1933 — September 16, 2012

James E. Rach, 79, of Kohler, died early Sunday morning, September 16, 2012 at Pine Haven Christian Home where he had resided for the past four months. Jim was born on August 8, 1933, in Kiel, the son of Leo and Selma (Warnke) Rach. He graduated from Kiel High School in 1951. On June 2, 1962 Jim married Darlene Karls in New Holstein. Jim worked at the Kohler Co. for over 38 years and then drove bus for the American Club for seven years before his final retirement in 2002. Jim was a member of St. John Evangelist Catholic Parish in Kohler, the Kohler Quarter Century Club, and the Sheboygan Elks Club. He cherished spending time with his family; especially his two grandsons. He also enjoyed reading, card playing, old movies, and going out for breakfast with his friends. Jim's family and friends will miss his sense of humor and wide repertoire of jokes and humorous stories. Jim is survived by his wife of 50 years, Darlene; one daughter, Michelle (Don) MacLeod of Washington; one son, Michael (Karen) Rach of Sheboygan; two grandsons, Ian MacLeod and Joshua Rach; one sister-in-law, Karen (Maurice) Germain of Chilton; and brother-in-law, Lionel Hellmer of Plymouth; nieces and nephews. Jim was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother, Cleo Rach. A private family funeral service will be held at the Chapel of Eternal Light in the Town of Sheboygan. Entombment will take place at the Gardens of Peace Mausoleum. Also special thanks go to nurse, Terry Lehrman and the other staff at Pine Haven Christian Home and the Heartland Hospice for the loving and devoted care given to Jim and their family.
