James W. Newman

James W. Newman, 89, of Sheboygan Falls, passed away on Friday, July 7, 2023, at Aurora Medical Center – Grafton.

Jim was born on February 1, 1934, to Wilbur and Leona (Herman) Newman in Manitowoc. He graduated from Manitowoc Lincoln. He was united in marriage to Lucille Chizek on July 21, 1956.

Jim served in the US Army from February 1957 to February 1959. He was stationed at Fort Rucker in Alabama, Fort Riley in Kansas, and Fort Lewis in Washington. Jim was in the 57th Transportation Company and was a helicopter H21 propeller mechanic.

Jim was a member of Blessed Trinity Parish. He was also a member of the Lakeshore Two Cylinder Tractor Club and We Like to Dance Club. Throughout his life, he worked as an ironworker for many years and was employed at Little Giant Implement Supply. Jim was the owner of Town and Country Auto from 1975 until his retirement in 1996.

More than anything, Jim loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was an avid collector of all types of John Deere memorabilia. Jim enjoyed dancing with his wife, whether it was in the kitchen or polka hall.

Jim is survived by his wife of nearly 67 years, Lucille; children, Debra (Peter) Kralovetz of Plymouth, Dennis (Lisa) Newman of Florence, and Sue (Kevin) Klosterman of Pickett; grandchildren, Casey (Brenda) Kralovetz of Olympia, Washington, Callie Kuntz (Troy Hahn) of Berlin, Lucas (Patti) Klosterman of Berlin, Dylan (Missy) Klosterman of Oshkosh, Candice Newman of Plymouth, Marinna Italiano of Green Bay; great-grandchildren, Everly, Owen, Gage, Bentley, Lincoln, Colton, Rayna, Valor, Na’Jae, Na’Mya; sisters-in-law, Karen Newman, Joan Chizek, Shirley (Dave) Anhalt; brothers-in-law, Allen (Mary) Chizek and Joe (Janet) Chizek Jr. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

James is preceded in death by his parents, Wilbur and Leona; sisters, Bernice (Romy) Schneider, Arlette Goessl; brother, Mike Newman; brother-in-law, Kenny Chizek; and sister-in-law, Diane Chizek.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Jim will be held at Blessed Trinity Parish on Friday, July 14, 2023, at 5:00pm with military honors.

Relatives and friends may greet the family at church from 2:00pm until the time of mass at 5:00pm.

Memorial donations can be made in Jim's name.
