James E. McMurray, 74, of 555 Sunset Maple, Sheboygan Falls, died Thursday, February 14, 2008 at Sunny Ridge Health Care and Rehab Center. He was born June 24, 1933 in Sheboygan, the son of the late Benjamin and Mabel (Moenning) McMurray. James was a 1952 graduate of Sheboygan Central High School. He served in the U.S. Army from 1954-56. On October 31, 1953 he married Janice Herbst at Trinity Lutheran Church in the Town of Wilson. He was a salesman for Warehouse Sales from 1966-86 and was manager of ABC Liquors in Tallahassee, Florida from 1986-96. James was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church in the Town of Sheboygan Falls. He enjoyed duck hunting with his sons and playing golf. Survivors include his wife, Janice; one daughter, Geri Lynn (Jay) Rusch of Sheboygan Falls; two sons, Scott (Jean) McMurray of Sheboygan, Michael (Melanie) McMurray of Sheboygan; seven grandchildren, Shannon, Shane, Sabrynn McMurray, Madison and Summer Strong, Kaylen and Andrea Rusch; one brother-in-law Terry (Linda) Herbst of Tallahassee, Fla.; one sister-in-law, Joan McMurray of Sheboygan Falls; nephews, Dan (Donna) Herbst and grand nephew, Conner Herbst, of Tallahassee, Fla, and Kevin Herbst of Sheboygan. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Patrick. A memorial service for James will be held on Sunday, February, 17, 2008 at 3:30 p.m. at the Wenig Funeral Home in Sheboygan Falls, with the Rev. Elizabeth Jaeger, officiating. Friends may call at the Wenig Funeral Home on Sunday from 1:30 p.m. until the time of the service. A memorial fund will be established in his name.
