James “Jim” A. Loersch went to his Heavenly reward on Tuesday, March 11, 2025. He was born to Edward “Eddie” and Ceil "Peggy" (Nesser) Loersch on June 13, 1942 in Sheboygan. He attended Holy Name Catholic Elementary School and graduated from Sheboygan South High School. Post high school he completed a two year business course at Sheboygan Vocational School. He obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree at St. Norbert College. He went on to obtain a Masters Degree in Educational Psychology Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling at University Wisconsin-Milwaukee and a second Masters Degree in Social Work also at UWM. He had a successful career working with United Cerebral Palsy of Southeastern Wisconsin and Holy Family Memorial Medical Center in Manitowoc. He gave of his time through volunteering and public speaking for schools, Manitowoc Lions Club, Habitat for Humanity and bereavement counseling. He received many awards and accolades for his generous spirit, heart and service.
Jim was united in marriage to Janette "Jan" (Atwood) Lauver on May 14th 1982. Together they enjoyed building and living a full and faith based life in New Berlin, Manitowoc, and the Sheboygan Area.
Jim is survived by his daughter, Lori (Lauver) Tobin and son in law Thomas Tobin, grandchildren, Tori Louise Tobin and Charles "Charlie” James Tobin, cousin Ronald ”Ron” Splinter and his daughter Emily, along with many cherished friends, nieces, and nephews. Jim is preceded in death by his wife Jan, parents, brother Tommy, cousin Mary Lou Splinter, siblings-in-law Lynn (Gardner) Gray and Robert Jr. (Greta) Atwood, and his in-laws Robert and Loraine Atwood.
A memorial service will be held at Zion Evangelical Covenant Church (1125 N. 6th Street, Sheboygan) on Friday, March 21, 2025, at 11:00am. Visitation will be from 10:30am until the time of service. Private committal service will be at Calvary Cemetery and Mausoleum immediately following the service.
