James DeMaster

James A. DeMaster, 64, of Cedar Grove unexpectedly passed away at his home on Friday, May 13, 2016. Jim was born on May 21, 1951 to Allen and Wilma (Huibregtse) DeMaster. He was a 1969 graduate of Cedar Grove High School. He then received his Associate Degree in Commercial Art from MATC. On July 23, 1978 he married Beth Bruggink in Cedar Grove. Jim worked in the foundry at the Kohler Co. for the past 30 years. Previously he worked at Gilt Edge Foundry and the JM Bruce Foundries in Cedar Grove. Jim was a member of Portview Church in Port Washington where he served as an usher. He was also a member of the Sauk Trail Conservation Club and the Kohler Quarter Century Club. Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing, baseball, other sports, coaching, bowling and yardwork. Jim will be remembered as a very generous person, always being willing to help others in any way he could. Jim is survived by his wife, Beth; his daughter, Kristen (Adrian) Beymer of Belleville; his son, Nathan (Rachel) DeMaster of Fitchburg; five grandchildren, Caiden, Peyton, and Sawyer Beymer, Keira and Valerie DeMaster; his sister, Roxanne (Claude) Melanson of North Carolina; his brother, Don (Rosemary) DeMaster of Cedar Grove; his mother-in-law, Marion Bruggink of Cedar Grove; and a brother-in-law, Tim (Kathi) Bruggink of Cedar Grove. Jim was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Eric; and his father-in-law, Dale Bruggink. A service to celebrate Jim's life will be held on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at 11 am at Portview Church, 3457 County Road LL, in Port Washington with Rev. Mark Larson officiating. Private family burial will take place prior to the funeral service on Tuesday morning at Cedar Grove Cemetery. Relatives and friends may greet the family at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg on Monday, May 16, 2016 from 4-8 pm, and on Tuesday, at church from 10 am until the time of the service. A memorial fund is being established in Jim's name for the Oostburg Ambulance, Cedar Grove Rescue Squad, and Portview Church.
