James "Jim" E. Bruggink, 68, of Cedar Grove, passed away Monday, December 31, 2012. Jim was born July 7, 1944 in Sheboygan County to Marvin and Edith (Huibregtse) Bruggink. He graduated from Cedar Grove High School in 1962. On December 4, 1965, Jim married Judy TeRonde at First Presbyterian Church in Cedar Grove. Jim spent his entire career selling Case/New Holland agriculture and construction equipment, working with his father, Marvin, at Bruggink Brothers before taking over the business after his father's death. In 1983, Jim moved to Miller-Bradford & Risberg before returning most recently to work with his son Brian at Bruggink's, Inc. Before joining Reformation Presbyterian Church in Sheboygan, Jim served as Trustee for First Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Cedar Grove. He was a charter member of Amsterdam Lion's Club, past President of Midwest Equipment Dealers Association and charter member of Snowrunner's Snowmobile Club. Jim loved his family. He enjoyed farming, hunting, cooking, and often put himself second in order to help others. Jim took a passion to mentoring those who faced challenges similar to his own. Jim is survived by his wife, Judy; two daughters, Alannah Bruggink and Chanise Bruggink of Cedar Grove; two sons, Kevin (LuAnn) Bruggink of Oostburg and Brian (Julie) Bruggink of Oostburg; five grandchildren, Paige, Cameron, Samantha, Logan, and Josiah Bruggink; his mother, Edith Bruggink of Sheboygan Falls; one sister, Linda Vander Jagt of Hartford; two brothers-in-law, Allan (Marilyn) TeRonde of Northbrook, IL and Larry (Linda) TeRonde of Sheboygan Falls; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Jim was preceded in death by his father, Marvin; one sister, Sandy (Nicholas) Vorath; one brother-in-law, Lee Vander Jagt; father and mother-in-law, Ellsworth and Annette TeRonde. Funeral services to celebrate Jim's life will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 5, 2013, at First Reformed Church in Oostburg with Pastor Chris Moulton officiating. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, the Town of Holland. Relatives and friends may greet Jim's family from 3-8 pm on Friday, January 4, 2013, at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg and one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church. A memorial fund is being established in Jim's name for Reformation Presbyterian Church-Missionary Fund in Sheboygan and Pine Haven Christian Home.
