James Bowe

James T. "Jim" Bowe, 68, of Waldo, died early on Tuesday morning, October 2, 2012 at Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center. Jim was born on January 5, 1944 in Fond du Lac, the son of the late Robert and Arlyne (Weber) Bowe. He graduated from Stockbridge High School in 1963 and then attended Barber School in Green Bay. Jim owned JB's Comb and Shears in Cedar Grove from 1986-2004. Previously he worked in various other shops owned by Bill Nyenhuis, Rich Stephani, and Joe Shaver. Jim also had a shop in Dorchester for three years. On October 3, 1970 he married Janelle Neerhof in Hingham. Especially during his retirement Jim would enjoy driving thru the countryside and visiting with his many friends. He was a member of the Hingham Reformed Church. Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cribbage and sheepshead, and collecting old coins. Years ago he coached his children's 4-H baseball team. Jim is survived by his wife of 42 years, Janelle; two daughters, Heidi (Noah) Kroll of Wausau and Kelly (Anders) Graff of Kohler; one son, Robert Bowe of Waldo; four grandchildren, Adrianah and Jaydon Kroll, Linnea and Johan Graff; one sister, Diane (Ralph) Blatz; two brothers, Dennis (Carol) Bowe and Steve (Cindy) Bowe, both of Hilbert; two sisters-in-law, Janet (Mike) Luedtke of Oostburg, Julie Huibregtse of Sheboygan Falls; and one brother-in-law, William (Jane) Neerhof of Sheboygan Falls. Jim is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, many loyal customers and dear friends. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, and infant brother, Robert Jr., his parents-in-law, Ellsworth and Henrietta Neerhof; and two brothers-in-law, James Huibregtse and Paul Neerhof. A celebration of Jim's life will take place at a funeral service to be held at the Hingham Reformed Church on Friday, October 5, 2012 at 10:30 am with the Rev. Steven J. Bakker officiating. Burial will follow at Hingham Cemetery. Family and friends will gather at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg on Thursday from 4-8 pm, and on Friday, at church from 9:30 until the time of the service at 10:30 am.
