Irene J. Pietenpol, 100, of Sheboygan Falls died on Friday morning, June 5, 2009 at Pine Haven Christian Home where she had resided for the past two years. Irene was born on September 15, 1908 in the Town of Lyndon, the daughter of the late John Benjamin and Jennie (Hilbelink) TenHaken. She attended Hingham Grade School and Wisconsin Memorial Academy in Cedar Grove. On November 26, 1929 Irene married the late Archie W. Pietenpol in Hingham. He preceded her in death on May 26, 1984. Irene was a devoted homemaker. She and her husband owned a dairy farm in the Town of Lima for many years. Irene was a longtime member at the First Reformed Church in Sheboygan Falls where she was involved in the Women's Ministries and Funeral Lunch Committee. She enjoyed gardening, growing gladiolas, crocheting, rug making, quilting, and family get togethers. Irene is survived by one daughter, Carol (Paul) Debbink of Sheboygan Falls; two sons, Glenn (Mary) Pietenpol of South Haven, Michigan and Dale (Sarah) Pietenpol of Waukesha; a son-in-law, Ronald Heinen of Oostburg; 13 grandchildren, Sandy (Jan) Huenink, Karen (Martin) Voskuil, James R. (Mary) Heinen, Mary (Mark) Huenink, JoAnne (Dennis) Nipple, Jon (Denise) Debbink, Mark (Sandy) Debbink, Steve (Lisa) Pietenpol, David (Laura) Pietenpol, Faith (Frank) Staab, Laurie (Tim) Wirsching, Drew (Nicole) Pietenpol, Becky (Paul) Pearson; a granddaughter-in-law, Jody Pietenpol; 29 great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren. Irene was preceded in death by her husband, Archie; one daughter, Ione Heinen; two brothers, Earl (Carrie) and Austin (Henrietta) TenHaken; two grandchildren, Gayle Debbink and Brian Pietenpol; and two great grandchildren, Mitchell and Abby Pietenpol. Funeral services will be held at the First Reformed Church in Sheboygan Falls on Tuesday, June 9, 2009 at 12:30 pm with the Rev. Brad Veenendaal officiating. Burial will follow at the Hingham Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 9:30 am until the time of the service at 12:30 pm.
