Irene Meyer

Irene C. Meyer, 93, of Sheboygan Falls, passed away on Friday, January 15, 2016, at Pine Haven Christian Home. Irene was born on October 13, 1922, in Sheboygan Falls, daughter of James and Martha (Kachur) Rhines. She was a 1940 graduate of Sheboygan Falls High School. In 1940 she married Melvin Anderson, they had two children, Richard and Carol. On June 18, 1976, she married Eugene K. Meyer at St. Mary Catholic Church in Sheboygan Falls. Eugene passed away on September 23, 2000. Irene was employed with Richardson Brothers in Sheboygan Falls for 17 years until her retirement in 1977. Irene was a member of Blessed Trinity Parish in Sheboygan Falls. She enjoyed embroidery, sewing, cross-stitch, crossword puzzles, puzzle books, and traveling. Irene is survived by her daughter, Carol (James) Brandt of Two Rivers; her son, Richard (Janet) Anderson of Sheboygan; seven grandchildren, Todd and Terry Brandt, Tammy Huenink, Keith (Peggy) Anderson, Kevin (Tracey) Anderson, Kenneth (Melissa) Anderson, and Kristine (Scott) Trempe; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Vivian Lawrence of Maine; and one brother, Kenneth (Irene) Rhines of Iron River, MI. Irene was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 24 years, Eugene, her granddaughter, Kathleen Anderson, her two sisters, Shirley Rhines and Clara (Ralph) Hobbs, and brother-in-law, Philip Lawrence. A funeral service to celebrate Irene's life will be held at 11:30 am on Monday, January 18, 2016, at Wenig Funeral Home in Sheboygan Falls with Rev. Bob Lotz officiating. Burial will take place at Wildwood Cemetery in Sheboygan. Relatives and friends may gather at the funeral home from 10:00 am until the time of the service at 11:30 am. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Irene's name for Blessed Trinity Parish. Irene's family would like to thank the staffs of the Pine Haven Christian Home and Sharon S.
