Hugo A. Schwoerer, 91, of Sheboygan, died peacefully at his home with his family at his side on Thursday, December 7, 2017.Hugo was born on April 3, 1926, in St. Nazianz, the son of Frank and Ida (Heinzen) Schwoerer. He attended St. Gregory Catholic School in St. Nazianz. On October 10, 1951 he married Marjorie Juckem at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Chilton. Hugo was a machinist, farmer and truck driver. He worked at Manitowoc Crane, Hayssen Mfg, and numerous other machine shops throughout his life. He was an over the road and local truck driver and enjoyed his life as a farmer in the Town of Lyndon and the Town of Mosel. Hugo was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church where he served as an usher. Hugo also volunteered at the Salvation Army and had a strong interest in the EAA, and Wings and Wheels. He enjoyed reading, airplane and war history, tractors and farming, tractor and horse pulling, card playing, fix-it projects, polka music and dancing. He enjoyed traveling and took many special trips with his son-in-law, Joe. He will be fondly remembered for his laughter - the "Hugo Chuckle". Hugo was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend to many. Hugo is survived by his wife of 66 years, Marjorie "Marge" of Sheboygan; five daughters, Carolyn (Cary) Underhill of Vista, CA, Cathy (James) Kesner of Sheboygan, Christy (James) Valukas of Kiel, Mary (Joseph) Winscher of Sheboygan, and Patti Schwoerer (Pat Chilton) of Carlinville, IL; two sons, Gerald (Nicki) Schwoerer of Chippewa Falls, WI and Steven (Kim) Schwoerer of Sheboygan; 13 grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Gertrude (Norbert) Kabat of Chilton; and a brother-in-law, Joseph Juckem of Chilton; many nieces and nephews.Hugo was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, Timothy Schwoerer; three sisters, Alvina (Clem) Shanahan, Sylvia (Ralph) Meyer, and Rita (John) Muehlbauer; four brothers, Herb, Leo, Alphonse and Norbert Schwoerer; one sister-in-law, Ida Juckem; five brothers-in-law, Francis (Bernice), Edwin (Maxine), Henry (Vera), Richard Juckem and Walter Wenig; and one step-granddaughter, Sunshine Sommer. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Dominic Catholic Church, located at 2133 North 22nd St., Sheboygan on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at 11am with the Rev. Matthew Widder officiating. A burial will take place at Wildwood Cemetery in Sheboygan.Family and friends will gather at the Wenig Funeral Home, 711 Broadway in Sheboygan Falls on Monday, December 11, 2017 from 4pm until 7 pm, and again at church on Tuesday from 10am until the time of Mass at 11am.
