Howard "Rex" E. Rixford, Jr., 79, of Sheboygan Falls, passed away on Saturday evening, February 28, 2015, at St. Nicholas Hospital in Sheboygan. Rex was born on August 27, 1935, in Stanley, WI, son of Howard E. Sr. and Lorraine (Smasal) Rixford. As a child, he would always be found playing at the "Stanley" park. He was a 1953 graduate of Stanley High School. Rex served in the US Army in Korea from 1954-1956. On March 4, 1957, he married Eve Langiewicz in Thorp. Rex built engines for Kohler Co. for over 30 years until his retirement in 1997. Rex was a member of the Kohler Company Quarter Century Club. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, attending his children's activities, watching all sports. He especially enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers. Rex is survived by his wife of 57 years, Eve; his daughter, Eva (Robert) Nechodomu of Howards Grove; his three sons, Jeffrey (Jerri-lynn of Largo, FL) Rixford of Sheboygan Falls, Keith (Laura) Rixford of Sheboygan Falls, and Robert (Anna Marie) Rixford of Phoenix, AZ; seven grandchildren, Jammie-Lynn (Fiancé Jason) Rixford, Matthew (Fiancé Nicole) Nechodomu, Adam (special friend Kayla) Nechodomu, Missy Rixford, Mandi (special friend John) Rixford, Sam Rixford, and Ava Rixford; three great-grandchildren, Jennifer, Julie, and Taylynn; two sisters, Ruth Ann (William) Isenberger of Stanley and Peggy (Harry) Nichols of Thorp, and dear friend and neighbor, Mary. Howard is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Howard was preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter, Jessica Rixford, and brother, David Rixford. A memorial service to celebrate Rex's life will be held at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, March 4, 2015, at the Wenig Funeral Home in Sheboygan Falls with Rev. Thomas Fleischmann officiating. Relatives and friends may greet the family from 5:00 pm until the time of the service at 7:00 pm. A memorial fund has been established in Rex's name.
