Howard A. Posner, 84, of 720 Woodview Ave. Apt. 2, Sheboygan Falls, died Friday, January 19, 2007 at St. Nicholas Hospital. He was born June 15, 1922 in Sheboygan Falls, son of the late August C. and Dora (Kerskamp) Posner. Howard was a 1940 graduate of Sheboygan Falls High School and attended Wake Forest Army Finance School. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII from 1942-45. On June 16, 1943, he married Janice Verhulst in Sheboygan Falls. He was a price administrator at Kohler Company for 34 years before retiring in 1974. Howard was a lifelong member of Faith United Methodist Church in Sheboygan Falls where he was a lay speaker, Sunday school teacher, choir member and held various church board positions. He was a member of the American Legion, Masonic Lodge, and Kohler Quarter Century Club. Howard enjoyed fishing, traveling, golf, his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was an avid baseball fan. Survivors include his wife, Janice; one daughter, Kathleen (Thomas) Dumdie of Sheboygan; one son, Ken (Kathleen) Posner of Sheboygan; three grandchildren, Debbie (Jeff) Dedering, Michael (Holly) Dumdie, Michelle (Rick) Bowhousen; five great grandchildren, Ashley and Matthew Dedering, Caroline Dumdie, Faith and Paige Bowhousen; one sister-in-law, Jeanette (Roman) Sprangers of Largo, Florida; two cousins; and one niece, Diane (Larry) Hackbarth. He was preceded in death by a great grandson, Shane Bowhousen, a brother-in-law, Melvin Trempe, and a nephew, David Trempe. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 22, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at the Wenig Funeral Home in Sheboygan Falls, with the Rev. Don Drollinger, officiating. Burial will take place in Sheboygan Falls Cemetery. Friends may call at the Wenig Funeral Home in Sheboygan Falls on Sunday, January 21, 2007 from 6-8 p.m. and on Monday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of services. A memorial fund will be established in his name for Faith United Methodist Church. Online condolences may be sent to wenig@wenigfuneralhome.com.
