Herbert Meyer Sr.

Herbert Meyer Sr. Herbert Meyer Sr., 76, of Sheboygan died early on Sunday morning, December 7, 2008 at Sunny Ridge where he had resided for the past seven years. Herbert was born on February 9, 1932 in Sheboygan, the son of the late Alfred and Marguerite (Heitz) Meyer. He attended Sheboygan Central High School. Herbert served in the US Army during the Korean War. He was a self employed contractor owning The Herb Meyer Construction Co in Sheboygan for 31 years before his retirement in 1996. He married the former Charlotte Sherman and Linda Twa. Herbert enjoyed hunting, playing golf, fishing, playing cards, and woodworking. He is survived by two daughters, Rochelle Meyer and Julie Nigh, both of Sheboygan Falls; four sons, Herbert John Meyer, Alfred Meyer, Karl (Christine) Meyer, all of Sheboygan Falls, and Herbert Scott (Stephanie) Meyer of Sheboygan; seven grandchildren, Amy (Dave) Engeldinger, Justin and Jeris Nigh, and Mia, Morgan, Ally, and Evelyn Meyer; five great grandchildren; three sisters, Marge Penny, Elaine (Charlie) Gorr, and Elaine Kober, all of Sheboygan; five brothers, Elmer (Agnes), Dennis, both of Sheboygan, Edward (Carolyn) of Gibbsville, Wallace (Mimi) of Oshkosh, and Kenny (Nancy) Meyer of Brooklyn, NY. He is also survived by Charlotte Meyer and Linda Meyer, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Herbert was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruby Lutzke and Betty Riemer and five brothers, Robert, Harry, Arnold, Henry, and Walter Meyer. A memorial service will be held at the Wenig Funeral Home in Sheboygan Falls on Thursday, December 11, 2008 at 11 am. Friends may greet the family at the Wenig Funeral Home in Sheboygan Falls on Thursday from 9-11 am.
