Henry Rooker

Henry J. Rooker, 97, of Howards Grove, died peacefully on Saturday morning, January 5, 2013, at Pine Haven Residential Home where he had resided for the past ten years. Henry was born on August 31, 1915, in the Town of Lima, the son of the late Wybrand and Jennie (Sanders) Rooker. Henry attended Victory School in the Town of Rhine. Henry married Myrtha Muesegades on October 18, 1941, in the Town of Herman. Myrtha preceded him in death on October 14, 2001. They farmed together in the Town of Rhine for many years before his retirement in 1980. Henry also worked at Gilson Mfg. in Plymouth for 15 years. Henry was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheboygan Falls. Henry is survived by his three sisters, Gertrude Rooker of Plymouth, Dorothy Dunham of Sheboygan Falls, and JoAnn Grant of Cleveland; two brothers, Willis (Janet) Rooker of Sheboygan Falls, and Robert (Mary) Rooker of Plymouth; two sisters-in-law, Marilyn Rooker of Waldo and Doris Muesegades of Sheboygan. Henry is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Henry was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtha; one sister, Marie Rooker; and three brothers, Edward (Florence), Donald, and Raymond Rooker. A funeral to celebrate Henry's life will take place on Monday, January 7, 2013, at 5:30 pm at St Paul Lutheran Church in Sheboygan Falls with the Rev. Tom Gudmundson officiating. Burial will take place at the Sheboygan Falls Cemetery. Family and friends will gather at the St. Paul Lutheran Church on Monday from 3:30-5:30 pm.
