Helen Wege

Helen Van De Wege, 89, of Oostburg, passed away unexpectedly as the result of a traffic accident on Thursday, November 19, 2009. Helen was born on May 23, 1920 in Cedar Grove, daughter of Ira and Luella (Huishere) Lubbers. She was a 1938 graduate of the Wisconsin Memorial Academy in Cedar Grove. On October 27, 1939 she married Christian D. Van De Wege in Cedar Grove. Christian preceded her in death on September 3, 2007. Helen worked at Tolibia Cheese and Dutchland Plastics in Oostburg. Helen was a member of Gibbsville Reformed Church. She taught Sunday school for many years. She enjoyed gardening, reading, baking, and spending time with her family and friends. She was the type of person that always put other people first. Survivors include her daughter, Loretta "Lolly" (Bob) Wade of Sheboygan; two sons, Mark Van De Wege of Oostburg and Don (special friend Lee Trimberger) Van De Wege of Hingham; four grandchildren, Kristi (Robert) Heimerl of Sheboygan, Amy (Shawn) Spellich of Reedsville, Jonathan (Holli) Van De Wege of Everett, WA, Matthew Van De Wege of Hingham; seven great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law Cornelia "Kay" TenPas of Sheboygan Falls; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Helen was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Christian; grandson Rodney Te Ronde; daughter-in-law Deborah Van De Wege; son-in-law David Te Ronde; one brother Louis (Ardell) Lubbers; two sisters Ruth (William) Edwards and Esther (Lester) Wieberdink. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, November 23, 2009 at 2:00 pm at Gibbsville Reformed Church. Burial will take place at Union Cemetery in the Town of Holland. Friends may call at the church on Monday from 12:00 pm until the time of the service. A memorial fund has been established in Helen's name for the Gibbsville Reformed Church.
