Helen M. Murphy, 87, of Sheboygan Falls, passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2015, at Pine Haven Residential Home where she had resided for the past six months. Helen was born on October 24, 1927, in Sheboygan, daughter of Oscar and Barbara (Billmann) Drossel. She was a 1945 graduate of Sheboygan Falls High School. On November 14, 1946, she married Samuel A. Murphy in Sheboygan Falls. Samuel passed away on December 26, 2001. Helen was employed as a receptionist with the Sheboygan Clinic. She also worked as a pharmacy technician for Boldt Drug and Walgreens Drug. Helen was a member of Blessed Trinity Parish in Sheboygan Falls where she was active as a funeral luncheon coordinator, bingo volunteer, and lay minister. She enjoyed entertaining, decorating, going out to eat, collecting Hummels, golf, , card playing, old-fashioneds and mud pies. Helen is survived by her two daughters, Mary Jo Wentz of Fall River and Christine (Dennis) Buehler of Manitowoc; her three sons, Steven Murphy of Sheboygan Falls, Dan (Pam) Murphy of Portage, and Brian (Mary) Murphy of Charlotte, NC; nine grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and her sister-in-law, Shirley Speth of Prairie Du Sac. Helen was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Samuel, her granddaughter, Heidi Murphy, her sister, Evelyn (Russell) Messner, and two brothers, Donald (Jean) Drossel and Elmore (Myrna) Drossel. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 am on Monday, August 31, 2015, at Blessed Trinity Parish in Sheboygan Falls with Rev. Richard Cerpich officiating. Burial will take place at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Sheboygan Falls. Relatives and friends may greet the family at the church on Monday from 9:00 am until the time of Mass at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Helen's name for Pine Haven Christian Communities and St. Nicholas Hospital Foundation.
