Helen Gall

Helen, M. Gall, 98, a resident of Morningside Health Center for the past seven years, died peacefully on Saturday morning, May 28, 2011. Helen was born on January 14, 1913 in Kiel, the daughter of Frank and Christina (Schoenung) Melger. Helen attended grade school in Kiel. On August 1, 1931 she married Alphonso C. Gall in Kiel. He preceded her in death on May 3, 2003 following 71 years of marriage. Helen worked at the Woolen Mills and Richardson Bros. in Sheboygan Falls and did cleaning for two families in the Kohler area. Helen was a member of Blessed Trinity Parish in Sheboygan Falls and the former Christian Mothers. She enjoyed playing sheepshead, canning pickles and jam, word puzzles, crocheting anything from small items to full size blankets, polka music, and participating in the many activities at the nursing home. Helen is survived by two daughters, Phyllis (Gus) Sagodi of Phoenix, and Kaylene (Bill) Baetz of Sheboygan; a son-in-law, Carl (Verna) Walsh of Plymouth; eight grandchildren, Christine (Joel) Van De Vruegde, Warren (Brenda) Walsh, Loren Walsh, Scott (Tammy)Walsh, Zsuzsi (Luis) Suniga, Heidi (Don) Klunk, Gusti (Tammy) Sagodi, Tara Holzem; ten great grandchildren; one brother, Raymond (Mildred) Melger of Cedarburg; a sister-in-law, Zerlina Melger of Oconomowoc; nieces and nephews. Helen was preceded in death by her husband, one daughter, Joan Walsh; one son, Alphonso Gall Jr., a son-in-law, Gary Holzem; a grandson, Steven Walsh; two sisters, Eleanor (Joe) Prepster and Ann (Willard) Scheibl; and five brothers, Joe (Elizabeth), Edward, Harry (Vickie), John (Mary), and Paul Melger. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Blessed Trinity Parish in Sheboygan Falls on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at 7 pm with Rev. Bob Lotz officiating. Burial will take place at St. Mary Cemetery in Sheboygan Falls. Friends may greet the family at Blessed Trinity Parish on Wednesday from 5:30 pm until the time of Mass at 7 pm.
