Harriet J. Debbink, 77, of Cedar Grove, went home to her Lord on Wednesday, September 10, 2014, at her home. Harriet was born on September 25, 1936, in Wood County, daughter of John and Margaret (Brusse) TerMaat. She was a 1954 graduate of Oostburg High School. On October 15, 1954, she married Lloyd Debbink in Hingham. Lloyd passed away on July 14, 2013. Harriet was employed as a Librarian for the Cedar Grove Library for many years. Harriet was a member of Faith Reformed Church in Cedar Grove, where she was active in the choir, the Reformed Church Women group, and the Denominational and Synodical Board. She was also a member of Merry Matrons Homemakers, was a foster parent, and a Sunday school teacher. Harriet enjoyed sewing, needlework, gardening and her grandchildren. Harriet is survived by her four daughters, Barbara (Cliff) Teunissen of Oostburg, Laurel (Jim) Moschetz of Wauwatosa, Patty DeBlaey of Sheboygan, and Sarah Debbink of Oostburg; one foster son, Nathaniel (Shelly) Greene of California; 10 grandchildren, Sherri (Marty) Halverson, Douglas (Kelly) Teunissen, Peggy Ruh, Curtis (Sheila) Teunissen, Fred Smith, Greg Smith, Jenny Dirks, Steve DeBlaey, Nathan Greene, and Samantha Greene; 19 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson, Ryker ; two sisters, Helen (Gordon) Veldboom of Oostburg and Cindy (Steve) Heinen of Sheboygan; two brothers, Richard (Helen) TerMaat of Grand Rapids, MI and David (Mary) TerMaat of Oostburg and one sister-in-law, Lavonne "Dolly" Debbink of Cedar Grove. She is further survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Harriet was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Lloyd, her parents, John and Margaret TerMaat and parents-in-law, Herbert and Mildred Debbink. Funeral services to celebrate Harriet's life will be held at 2pm on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at Faith Reformed Church in Cedar Grove with Rev. Ron Sanford officiating. Burial will take place at Hingham Cemetery in the Town of Lima. Relatives and friends may call at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg on Friday, September 12, 2014 from 4-8pm and at Church on Saturday, from 1pm until the time of service at 2pm.
