Glen E. Gruett, age 82, of Oostburg, passed away on Monday, September 16, 2024, at Pine Haven Christian Communities in Sheboygan Falls following a long battle with cancer.
Glen was born September 11, 1942, in Milwaukee to Harold and Edna (Justmann) Gruett. He graduated from Wauwatosa High School in 1961. He then attended UW Milwaukee and UW Madison obtaining a degree in electrical engineering. He and his wife, Mary Jane, were wed in 1967. Glen later completed his MBA from UW Milwaukee while working for Siemens-Allis. In 1983 he began working for Wigwam Mills in Sheboygan where he remained until he retired in 2011. He was a longtime member of Bethel Orthodox Presbyterian Church, where he served as elder and Sunday school teacher.
Glen is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary Jane (Laatsch) Gruett; son, Matthew (Ingrid) Gruett of Middleton; grandchildren, Henrik and Anna Gruett; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; parents-in-law, Edwin and Esther Laatsch; brother, Wayne Gruett; and sisters-in-law, Joyce Pingel and Nancy Kriesel.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00pm on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at Bethel OPC in Oostburg. A livestream of the funeral service can be viewed by visiting wenig.live/GlenGruett.
Visitation will take place at the church on Saturday from 10:00am until the time of service. Interment will take place the following day, Sunday, at St. John Lutheran Church Cemetery, Town of Grant, Shawano County at 2:00pm.
Memorials may be made in Glen’s name to Bethel OPC or Fort Wilderness Ministries.
