Gertrude A. Stoffregen, 81, of Sheboygan Falls died unexpectedly at her home on Sunday morning, July 7, 2013. Gert was born on August 14, 1931, the daughter of James and Johanna (Lievense) Daane. She graduated from Sheboygan Falls High School in 1949. On May 21, 1952, she married William Stoffregen in Sheboygan Falls. Gert attended Lakeshore Technical College to study food service and nutrition. She worked briefly for the Kohler Co. and was a cook for Pine Haven Christian Home for 25 years prior to her retirement. Gert was a lifetime and active member of the First Reformed Church in Sheboygan Falls where she taught Sunday school and Bible class, sang in the choir and was active on the Missionary Committee and Women's Prayer Group. She enjoyed fishing, baking, gardening, flowers, traveling and sports. She attended as many of her grandchildren's activities as possible. Gert is survived by her husband of 61years, William; one daughter, Sue Ann (Ed) Roth of West Allis; three sons, Steven (Lynette) , David (Jackie), and Todd (Tami) Stoffregen, all of Sheboygan Falls; eleven grandchildren, Michelle, Andrea, Mark, and Elizabeth Roth, Stephanie and Sarah Stoffregen, Stacy, Shannon, and Shauna Stoffregen, Danielle and Lindsey Stoffregen; one great grandaughter, Scarlette Marie; one sister, Ethel Weavers of Sheboygan Falls; one sister-in-law, Virginia Daane of New Holstein; two brothers-in-law, Harley (Shirley) Stoffregen of Neenah and Calvin (Friend Faye) Stoffregen of Sheboygan Falls. Gert is also survived by nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, an infant, Howard (Avis) Daane, and Bernard (Jackie) Daane; one brother-in-law, Marvin Weavers; and a special nephew, Douglas Daane. A funeral to celebrate Gert's life will take place at the First Reformed Church in Sheboygan Falls on Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at 1:30 pm with the Rev. DuWayne Hanke officiating. Burial will take place at the Sheboygan Falls Cemetery. Family and friends will gather at the church on Tuesday from 4-8 pm, and on Wednesday from 12:30 pm until the time of the service.
