Gerald Theune

Gerald Theune, 86, of Sheboygan Falls, passed away on Wednesday, October 15, 2014, at Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center. Gerald was born on August 21, 1928, in the Town of Holland, son of Clarence and Ida (Veldboom) Theune. He attended Weeden Station School. Gerald served in the US Marines. On May 27, 1950, he married Dolores Babb in Sheboygan Falls. Dolores passed away on June 22, 2004. Gerald was employed with Bemis Manufacturing for 47 years until his retirement in 1990. Gerald was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Sheboygan Falls, where he served as an usher, and a member of the Men's Breakfast Club. He enjoyed woodworking, fix-it projects, polka music, and gardening. Gerald is survived by his daughter, Tamara Theune of Sheboygan Falls; his son, Terry (Kim) Theune of Sheboygan Falls; three grandchildren, Lydia Scherr, Dylan Theune, and Devyn Theune; five sisters, Lucille Karsteadt of Plymouth, Norma (Bill) Vetch of California, Jean Hoftiezer of Hingham, Eileen (Wayne) Casteel of Glenbuelah, and Carol (Andrew) Molkenthine of Plymouth; and one brother, Lyle (Kay) Theune of Plymouth. Gerald was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Dolores, two brothers, Donald (Elsie) Theune and Howard (Delores) Theune, three brothers-in-law, Joseph Fleck, Melvin Karsteadt, and Herbert Hoftiezer. Funeral services to celebrate Gerald's life will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, October 20, 2014, at the Wenig Funeral Home in Sheboygan Falls with Rev. Susan Safford-Gaul officiating. Burial with military honors will take place at Greenlawn Memorial Park in the Town of Sheboygan. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday, October 19, 2014 from 2:00 pm until 6:00 pm and also on Monday morning from 10:00 until the time of the service at 11:00 am. A memorial fund has been established in Gerald's name for Faith United Methodist Church.
