Gerald Kultgen

Gerald J. Kultgen, 79, of the Town of Wilson, died on Friday afternoon, July 3, 2015 at the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice Center while surrounded by his family. Jerry was born on December 19, 1935 in the Town of Cedarburg in Ozaukee County, the son of Elmer and Gertrude (Schmitz) Kultgen. He graduated from Sheboygan Central High School in 1953 and then served in the US Army. On June 14, 1969 he married Doris Walter at St. Rose Catholic Church in the Town of Lima. Jerry worked in the brass division at the Kohler Co. for 43 years prior to his retirement in 1998. Jerry was a member of Blessed Trinity Parish in Sheboygan Falls and was a longtime member of St. George Catholic Church in the Town of Wilson. He was also a member of the Kohler Quarter Century Club. Jerry enjoyed gardening, birdwatching, going for walks, playing sheepshead, listening to polka music and watching the Green Bay Packers. He is survived by Doris, his wife of 46 years; four daughters, Mary Kultgen of Sheboygan Falls, Barbara Kultgen of Sheboygan, Patricia (Will McRoy) Kultgen of West Lafayette, IN, Kathleen ( Bruce Monroe) Kultgen of Sheboygan Falls; four sons, Steven Kultgen of Hamilton, NJ, David (Tammy Knecht) Kultgen of Plymouth, Donald (YaChin) Kultgen of Garden City, MI, and James (Michelle Chang) Kultgen of Chicago; two grandchildren, Allison and Logan Kultgen; one sister, Mildred Kultgen of Sheboygan Falls; two brothers, Leroy (Delores) Kultgen of Kewaunee and Kenneth Kultgen of Cleveland; and two sisters-in-law, LaVerne (Robert) Krueger and Jeanne Klein, both of Sheboygan; many nieces and nephews. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Rose Mary Kultgen; and one brother, Elmer (Emma) Kultgen and a brother-in-law, Alfred Klein. A private family service will be held at Blessed Trinity Parish with Rev. Bob Lotz officiating. Burial will follow at St. George Catholic Cemetery in the Town of Wilson.
